Brain-CE has been recognized by five competitive grants and scholarships at the intersection of social innovation, health equity, and experiential learning. Each award reflects the urgency of our mission and the strength of the community we are building.
Branch Out Impact Grant
Awarded to translate neuroscience research beyond the laboratory into community impact initiatives. Supported knowledge mobilization linking climate change, neurological health, and public engagement through the Brain Climate Equity Collaborative — funding the hybrid symposium at the Hunter Hub for Entrepreneurial Thinking at the University of Calgary and supporting Brain-CE’s growing knowledge translation infrastructure.
Belong Foundation Grant
A competitive grant awarded to support educational and entrepreneurial initiatives focused on systems change and community impact. Recognized for advancing equity-centered innovation through the Brain Climate Equity Collaborative. Supported Brain-CE’s early organizational development and the equity-centered community engagement model that now underpins all four organizational pillars.
Campus as a Learning Lab Scholarship
A competitive scholarship supporting student-led experiential learning and cross-sector collaboration. Funded the development and national expansion of the Brain Climate Equity Collaborative, addressing the intersection of climate change and brain health equity. Enabled Brain-CE’s transition from a single research initiative into a nationally organized collaborative.
Institutional Partnerships
Brain-CE operates within a growing network of academic institutions, health organizations, and international coalitions that share our commitment to climate-neurological health equity. These partnerships connect our research, events, and advocacy to the systems best positioned to act on them.
Planetary Health Alliance
A consortium of over 400 universities, NGOs, research institutes, and government entities working to understand and address the human health impacts of global environmental change. Brain-CE is a member organization.

A 45-country network of researchers and clinicians advancing the global evidence base on climate and neurological health. Brain-CE serves as Canada’s representative organization, facilitated through Director Dr. Burcin Ikiz.
